Sarah Wratten – Founder of Pinder Aquatic Physiotherapy

Sarah has 27 years experience working as an aquatic physiotherapist. She qualified in 1997 as a physiotherapist and gained a Masters in Manual Therapy in 2008. Sarah has completed aquatic therapy courses in the UK and abroad, including the four-week Bath Hydrotherapy Course qualifying as a hydrotherapist and two week course in Valens, Switzerland.

Sarah has devoted her career specialising in treating patients in hydrotherapy pools. She has experience working in the NHS, private sector and for the Ministry of Defence as the Clinical Aquatic Therapy Lead for 10 years. She is experienced in treating all conditions musculoskeletal, neurological, rheumatological, orthopaedic and sports injuries from those with no active movement through to elite athletes.

Sarah has been a committee member of the Aquatic Therapy Association for Chartered Physiotherapists (ATACP) since 2001 and is currently the Chair. She is also a committee member of the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG).

Sarah is an ATACP accredited tutor in aquatic therapy teaching courses to physiotherapists and healthcare practitioners in the UK and abroad since 2006. Sarah is passionate about aquatic therapy and understands the need for rehabilitation to be personalised, effective and enjoyable.


Ros Parker – Physiotherapist

Ros Parker qualified as a Physiotherapist with a BSc (Hons) from Brunel University in 1998, where she studied Physiotherapy as a second degree. Ros has worked in the NHS for many years until recently starting her own private practice. She is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist who also teaches Pilates (APPI qualified). Ros has enjoyed providing aquatic physiotherapy in the Winchester hospital since 2000 and now for Pinder Aquatic Physiotherapy. Ros has a special interest in musculoskeletal conditions, including sports injuries and rheumatological conditions including fibromyalgia.  

Ros likes working with people to achieve their goals in the pool and focuses on a patient-centred approach to her practice. She has completed the ATACP Foundation Aquatic Therapy Course, the Intermediate Musculoskeletal and Neurological Courses.


Karen Todd - Aquatic Therapist

Karen Todd has 16 years experience working in hydrotherapy pools as an aquatic therapist. She has worked with a wide range of ages from 2 to 102! Her interests are working in special education treating children and young adults with profound multiple disabilities, as well as with people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Karen has worked over the years supporting NHS physiotherapists, as well as Sarah Wratten for the last 5 years.

Karen has completed courses in aquatic physiotherapy including Aquaepps, ATACP Foundation, Intermediate Aquatic Therapy for Neurological conditions and Intermediate Musculoskeletal. She has a great passion for utilising all the properties of water to work with people to maximise their function, quality of life and independence.


Sarah Hughes - Physiotherapist

Sarah qualified as a chartered physiotherapist from St. Thomas’ Hospital, London in 1986. Since qualification she has had a varied career working both in and out of the NHS. At the start of her career, Sarah took on the role as back care specialist in a large NHS hospital but since 2004 Sarah has chosen to develop her skills in aquatic physiotherapy alongside her land-based physiotherapy work. She is proud to have worked for the Pinder Trust for almost twenty years, firstly at the Pinder Centre in Avington before it’s closure in 2012, then at Rosewood School until 2019. Sarah now reports she feels thrilled to be part of a team working in the Pinder Hydrotherapy Pool in the state-of-the-art Winchester Sports and Leisure Park which opened in 2021. Sarah has completed various aquatic physiotherapy courses including the ATACP Foundation and Intermediate.


Jen Lovett - Physiotherapist

Jen qualified as a chartered physiotherapist in 2006 and specialized in treating musculoskeletal conditions at Guys and St Thomas’ in London.  She has worked in both the NHS and private practice, combining her work as a land-based physiotherapist with treating patients in the pool for the last 10 years. Jen has completed the ATACP Foundation and Intermediate courses. She is a qualified Ai Chi instructor and runs the Ai Chi class in the Pinder hydrotherapy pool.

Jen is also a Clinical Pilates instructor and Myofascial release practitioner who has a holistic approach to treatment. She has worked at many sporting events including the London Marathon, Trois Etape pro-am cycle series in France and Italy, and for a rugby club. Jen enjoys seeing the benefits patients get from working in the hydrotherapy pool to regain function whether after injury, pre and post operative, or for those with long-term disabilities.


Sarah Lotriet - Aquatic Therapist

Sarah Lotriet has been working in hydrotherapy pools in school environments with learners who have profound and multiply learning difficulties since 2005. Sarah has completed courses in aquatic physiotherapy including the ATACP Foundation, Intermediate Aquatic Therapy for Neurological conditions and Halliwick. Sarah has extensive experience working as an aquatic therapist supporting NHS physiotherapists for 19 years and with Sarah Wratten over the last 5 years.

Sarah studied Sports Science at college. She is a Rebound therapist since 2011 and a Moving and Handling trainer. Sarah fully understands the benefits of warm water therapy to improve, or maintain, function in a supportive, pain relived environment. She builds positive relationships and trust to achieve optimal gains in the pool.


There is parking free of charge for users up to 4 hours via the main car park. Blue badge holders can utilise parking at the side of the hydrotherapy suite and gain access directly without the need to come through the main centre reception.
